how i became an Event Artist
Growing up in Camden, South Carolina I found myself captivated with the atmosphere of fields and ponds – the rays of light swaying on blades of grass and dancing along the ripples of water. It is there in the countryside that I learned to draw and paint, paying close attention to the casting and changing of light through the seasons. From a young age, I always took my paints and easel outside to capture the lovely scenery around me. When the opportunity presented itself to do just that, except at a wedding, I jumped at the chance! That was in 2019 and I haven’t looked back! True to the original French Impressionists who painted en plein air, I would categorize my painting as lively and colorful, with a modern impressionistic twist.
As a Live Wedding Painter, I seek to capture all of the beauty that is around me. While once that was just the fields and the flowers, now my paintings are charged with the emotion and love felt between an adoring couple and their families. Of course, I still include the glory of the oceans and the mountains, just in the background of what is really important! I choose to continue to paint at weddings because I truly believe in the importance of marriage and the gift God gave us in sacred companionship.

What Is Event Art?
Live Event Art is an entertainment style of painting where an artist sets up their easel, canvas and brushes to paint the event unfolding in front of them. I paint at weddings, concerts, parties, graduations, Christenings/Baptisms and anywhere else that might host a special life moment for someone. Not only does the artist add a unique form of entertainment at your event, as the guests get to watch the scene take shape on the canvas, but the finished painting is a wonderful memento from that memorable day. Live Event Art captures the monumental moment like no other art form can – incorporating the finest details of the atmosphere into the art piece.
